As someone who has struggled with various skin concerns over the years, from acne scarring to uneven texture and pigmentation, finding an effective solution has been a priority. After much research and consideration, I decided to undergo Halo laser treatment, and I must say, it has been a transformative experience that has revitalized my skin and boosted my confidence.

On the day of the treatment,  I put my numbing cream on about 45 minutes before my appointment time and arrived at The Well Lounge feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. Once the numbing took effect, my aesthetician started the Halo laser session, carefully targeting specific areas of concern on my face.

I won’t sugarcoat it—the sensation during the treatment was slightly uncomfortable, akin to a series of tiny pinpricks and warmth on the skin. However, thanks to the numbing cream and the expertise of Lori, the discomfort was manageable, and the session proceeded smoothly.

What impressed me most about Halo laser treatment was its versatility and precision. The dual wavelengths of the laser allowed for customized treatment tailored to my unique skin concerns. Whether addressing acne scars, sun damage, or fine lines, Halo effectively targeted each issue, promoting collagen production and skin renewal for long-lasting results.

Following the treatment, I experienced some redness and mild swelling, which are common side effects and typically subside within a few days. My treatment came with SkinCeuticals Hydrabalm, a ZO Get Skin Ready Kit and a post care card so I knew exactly what to do each day following the treatment.  I diligently followed post-treatment care instructions provided by The Well Lounge, including gentle cleansing, moisturizing, and avoiding direct sun exposure.

Over the following weeks, I began to notice gradual improvements in my skin’s texture and tone. The acne scars that had plagued me for years became less noticeable, and the overall clarity of my complexion improved significantly. Friends and family started to comment on how refreshed and rejuvenated I looked, which boosted my confidence and validated my decision to undergo Halo laser treatment.

Pre HALO™ Treatment

  • No sun exposure for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment
  • Discontinue use of any retinols & retinoids 2 days prior to treatment
  • No Accutane for at least 6 months
  • Avoid unnecessary that could increase photo-sensitivity (antibiotics are the most common)
  • If you have an active cold sore, you must reschedule your appointment
  • Please arrive at your appointment with clean, make-up free skin
  • When possible, please apply the provided topical numbing cream 30 minutes prior to our appointment time

Post HALO™ Care

After your HALO™ treatment, it is normal and expected for your skin to feel hot and inflamed, usually increasing throughout the first day. Swelling is common and expected, especially one-day post-treatment. You will begin to notice rough dark brown dots coming to the surface of the skin called MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris). These areas contain dead skin cells and pigment rising to the surface and sloughing off. While the MENDS are healing, your skin may feel like sandpaper and may be itchy. The whole process takes 5-7 days to heal. Here are a few post-care instructions-

  • DO NOT exfoliate or scratch/pick off MENDS as doing so may cause scarring, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and infection
  • A cold compress may be used as needed
  • No hot showers or exercising for the first 48 hours
  • No makeup for 24 hours
  • Use only aftercare products that are recommended by your practitioner
  • ALWAYS wear SPF
  • Avoid sun exposure at least two weeks post-treatment
  • If you use Retinol or Hydroquinone, you may resume use after 2 weeks, unless directed otherwise
