What Is a Liquid Facelift?

There are many treatments that work well on their own to address specific cosmetic issues, such as BOTOX® for relaxing forehead lines or thread lifts to elevate sagging facial tissues. Putting these options together so that their results complement each other is the secret behind a liquid facelift.

The treatment gets its name from the fact that a primary component of a liquid facelift is literally a liquid injectable introduced into strategic areas to maximize results.

What Can a Liquid Facelift Address?

Since changes in different areas of your face work together to give you a more tired or aged appearance, treatments can be customized to target particular regions or cosmetic problems.

The Micro

Small (micro) changes can make a BIG punch. This liquid facelift is the perfect match for all you twentysomethings who need a little “plump, fill, and smooth” to perk up those lips. This package averages two full syringes.

The Mini

This liquid facelift is a “perfect match” for thirtysomethings looking for a little pick-me-up. This is the perfect package to perk up those lips and brighten your eyes. It averages three full syringes.

The Midi

We see you out there. You want that natural look and feel—but without the natural pull of gravity. The Midi liquid facelift makes all your friends say, “I can’t put my finger on what’s different about her!” This package averages four full syringes.

The Maxi & The Most

Getting a late start to your aesthetic game? 5-7 syringes may be the best place to start to really see a difference.

THE MAXI averages 5 full syringes and includes our post-injectable skincare system

THE MOST averages 7 full syringes and includes our post-injectable skincare system.

How Does a Liquid Facelift Work?

The two main components of a liquid facelift are the neuromodulator BOTOX® and injectable PDO threads.

Neuromodulators relax the wrinkle-causing muscles where they are injected, typically for months at a time. Treatments focus on what are known as dynamic wrinkles, which are lines associated with frequent contractions in high-motion areas of the face. Most commonly, these wrinkles are horizontal lines on the forehead, frown lines between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet next to the eyes.

PDO threads are internal sutures injected below the surface of the skin to internally hold up tissues that are sagging due to gravity’s downward pull. The material is strong enough to keep cheeks elevated and prevent jowling, but is also absorbable. The sutures trigger your body to create collagen in the area, so when the sutures dissolve, there will still be a natural scaffold in place to maintain the youthful contours.

What Does a Liquid Facelift Session Involve?

The first step is a consultation that allows The Well Lounge team to examine your skin and hear your cosmetic concerns, then develop a personalized plan.

The liquid facelift itself will involve numerous injections, each made strategically and with the skill to maximize harmonious results. Creating balance and facial rejuvenation requires the ability and skill to see how each part of the treatment will work on its own and in relationship to the other treatments and existing facial features—not just in the days after the treatment, but also for the months to follow.

Despite the careful work that goes into a liquid facelift, the treatment can be completed in about 60 minutes or less.

Most patients tolerate the injection process well, but The Well Lounge has techniques and strategies for reducing sensation in the treatment area. These can be discussed prior to the session in order to maximize comfort.

What Happens After a Liquid Facelift?

There will be some minor swelling and tenderness where the threads were injected. Similarly, the neuromodulator injection points will appear slightly red and may itch or feel uncomfortable for a short while. There may also be some slight bruising. All of these side effects will fade away.

Refrain from putting pressure on the injection sites for about 24 hours. Stay out of hot tubs or saunas and avoid intense exercise for a similar amount of time as well.

Aside from these cautions, which your injector will go over with you in detail, you should feel free to get back to whatever other activities you prefer after your liquid facelift session. No rest or recuperation is necessary—but you can certainly relax for the rest of the day if you would like!

When Are Results from a Liquid Facelift Visible?

Tissues elevated by a thread lift will create more youthful contours that are visible right away. These contours will continue to refine and take shape as any initial swelling fades. The effects of BOTOX® injections will take a few days to develop, since muscle activity gradually slows. Expect to see the full impact of the neuromodulator in about a week or two when maximum relaxation is reached.

How Long Do Liquid Facelift Results Last?

There are numerous factors that impact a person’s results, including how long those results can be expected to remain visible. While physical activity, muscle density, and other variables determine timelines, you can expect about three months of markedly smoother skin wherever the muscles have been treated. Some people have enjoyed their results for up to five months.

The effects of a thread lift typically last for one to three years, with the sutures giving way to natural collagen for an especially long-lasting rejuvenation.

Anyone interested in maintaining the effects of their BOTOX® treatments along with the ongoing contours from their thread lift can talk to us about scheduling maintenance appointments.

How Much Will a Liquid Facelift Cost?

Each liquid facelift is different, but patients will benefit from the savings that come from combining treatments. Ask about cost during your initial consultation, and we can explain the various pricing options of individual and combined treatments for you.

What Other Rejuvenation Treatments Are Available at The Well Lounge?

The effects of neuromodulators—such as BOTOX® or Dysport®—pair well with dermal fillers that add volume to the face, such as hyaluronic acid-based Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and Belotero Balance®, as well as collagen-stimulating Sculptra® and Radiesse®.
