Welcome Dr. Meg Zakarewicz to The Well!

Meg Zakarewicz is double board-certified physician of Family Medicine and Weight Management. For over ten years, she has practiced as a Family Physician before focusing towards medical weight management.

“After spending years helping patients manage chronic disease, transitioning to health promotion has been a true dream come true. My busy primary care practice did not allow the time required to help patients create the change in their lives that they desired. Transitioning into weight management and metabolic health has given me the opportunity to help my patients create real change and true lasting health.”

Passion for Healthy Weight Management

In 2019, Dr. Meg began developing a Medical Weight Management Practice. She engineered and implemented the weight management Program for this practice focusing on four pillars of medical weight management. The four pillars of focus include nutrition, physical activity, mindset, and medication. This program was executed with Dr. Meg’s intelligence, passion, direction and coordination, resulting in exuberant success. Thus, leading to Dr. Meg founding Collaborative Weight Loss– a comprehensive weight management solution tailored to improve metabolic efficiency and support empowered, sustainable, lifelong, weight loss.

Personal + Family Life

Doctor Meg has been “married to the love of my life for over 20 years.” Together they have four children and a Pug named after Phillies All-Star 1st Baseman, Ryan Howard. In her spare time, Doctor Meg loves to attend sporting events (big Phillies Fan), and live concerts– “especially outdoor summer concerts!” She stays active through practicing yoga and running. Doctor Meg also enjoys volunteering for the Youth Ministry at her church. When asked about her favorite places to travel, Doctor Meg will quickly tell you “anywhere on the water!” But, her favorite vacation was with her family to North Captiva Island.

While Doctor Meg loves to stay active, travel, and attend events, she cannot leave the house without sunglasses and lip gloss.

Welcome Jade! Our newest Nurse Injector to join The Well Lounge! Read on to learn more about Jade, her education, experiences, and passion in health + wellness. 

 

Passion for Women’s Health

Jade is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC). She received her degree from Drexel University in 2020. Before earning her Master’s in Nursing, Jade earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN) when she graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University in 2011. In 2011, Jade’s nursing career began on the Labor and Delivery floor at Hahnemann hospital. She continued working as a floor nurse in Labor and Delivery at Hahnemann, Abington Jefferson, and Thomas Jefferson through 2020. Currently, Jade works as Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in Obstetrical Triage at Abington Jefferson.

“I teared up at my first delivery and I still tear up from time to time when I get the chance to be in the delivery room! Women’s Health is more than my passion, it’s part of my heart. 

The main drive for continuing my education and becoming a Nurse Practitioner was to help women really know and understand what is happening with their bodies. That way they can find the right pathway or treatment options that will help them to feel their best.”

Holistic Approach

Jade has a holistic approach to overall Women’s Health and medicine. She recognizes common solutions suggested in healthcare can be very limiting and sometimes even harmful. Jade wants to expand the conversations on women’s health, sexual health, hormone balancing, postpartum, postmenopausal and more.

“I believe education is empowerment. I love to help women understand what’s happening with their bodies and explaining why so they can find their best treatment pathway. Women deserve to feel like their best selves, and feel supported with multiple methods for overall health. I want to be an advocate to educate women on their health and medical options.”

Medical Aesthetics

Jade’s interest in medical aesthetics grew from her core belief how women deserve to feel like their best selves. Medical Aesthetics gives all patient’s the opportunity to enhance their natural beauty + see their best selves on the outside, while they feel like their best selves on the inside. Jade’s holistic health approach also adores and honors the role physical appearance plays in mental health.

“Whether it is making people feel more beautiful externally with injectables, such as neurotoxins, filler, or amazing medical grade skin care, or helping them to feel amazing on the inside with hormonal support, improving their sexual health, or micronutrient testing and IV infusions. It’s so important to take the time and to take care of our whole body to really feel our best! Being able to help people feel like the very best version of themselves is the best job in the world.”

Personal + Family Life

Jade and her husband, Ryan, have three beautiful children, Charlotte, Anthony, and Jase; and, they’re expecting a baby August 2023. When asked about her hobbies, Jade laughed with “I have three kids?” But it’s true! She loves to spend time snuggled up with her family. In Summer, Jade and her family love being down the Jersey Shore. The ideal date night for Jade and Ryan is described as “chill, maybe dinner, possibly a movie. Hopefully a cheesy RomCom!”
