- HALO™ Laser Resurfacing
Some laser treatments work by removing the outermost layer of skin, while others impact deeper layers without disturbing the surface. Both options have unique advantages. With HALO™ laser resurfacing at The Well Lounge in Newtown, PA, you don’t have to choose between the two. As the world’s first hybrid fractional laser, HALO™ offers the “best of both worlds” for anyone who wants beautiful results on their own schedule.

What Can HALO™ Laser Resurfacing Treat?
Laser light is a very effective skin treatment option, useful for addressing many cosmetic conditions. The focused energy in a laser resurfacing session can reduce wrinkles and fine lines, repair sun damage, resurface the skin, minimize scars (including acne scars), reverse signs of aging, fade freckles and other pigmented lesions, and improve the appearance of overly large pores.
How Does HALO™ Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?
As a hybrid skin treatment, HALO™ laser resurfacing works in two different ways.
Ablative laser resurfacing treatments remove the skin to address surface-level cosmetic problems, reveal younger skin beneath, and prompt restorative healing processes. This option can provide very dramatic results, but some patients do not like the associated downtime required for healing.
Non-ablative treatments involve light passing through the surface to stimulate collagen production below. This gives the skin a rejuvenating boost for a fuller appearance without the need for significant recovery after (unlike ablative laser resurfacing), but the results are a bit more subtle than some patients would like.
HALO™ laser resurfacing combines the two strategies into one treatment that can be tailored to patients who want a customized balance between the two options. The Well Lounge’s medical aestheticians can adjust the device so that it provides just the desired degree of visible results with minimal downtime.
HALO™ hybrid fractional laser resurfacing at Newtown, PA’s The Well Lounge can remodel existing collagen and start new collagen creation to improve skin texture and tone. The treatment targets wrinkles and fine lines, scars, spots, and general cosmetic signs of aging and sun damage.
Skincare Specialist Spotlight
The hybrid fractional laser technology means the HALO™ laser resurfacing device does not remove the entire outermost layer of skin but instead targets isolated dots of skin in a grid pattern. The laser light rapidly heats up water molecules in these dots, vaporizing a small area of skin, but leaving the surrounding skin intact.
After the laser resurfacing treatment, the skin begins to repair each dot. This process also benefits the intact skin, making the entire treatment area appear smoother, fuller, and more radiant.
The non-ablative laser energy corrects deeper sun damage and remodels existing collagen below the surface for a more even texture and look. It also prompts renewed collagen production of its own.
What Does HALO™ Laser Resurfacing Involve?
After a consultation to create a treatment plan based on your cosmetic needs, The Well Lounge’s medical aestheticians will prepare you for your laser skin resurfacing session. The laser energy entering your skin will feel like a quick and hot “zap,” more noticeable in especially sensitive areas, such as around the eyes or lips. You will get eye protection to maximize your safety.
The laser resurfacing treatment will take only minutes to complete, with the exact length depending on which areas are being treated and how large they are.

What Happens After HALO™ Laser Resurfacing?
Your skin will likely feel sensitive and hot for a few hours after your laser resurfacing session, similar to a sunburn. Be sure to avoid actual sun exposure while these side effects fade, since ultraviolet radiation can damage the recently treated skin. Stay in the shade, cover up, and wear sunscreen if UV exposure is unavoidable.
Over the following days, your skin may feel a little swollen, and each pinpoint spot where the laser resurfacing treatment broke the surface will scab and then flake away.
Over the next couple of weeks after a laser resurfacing session, your skin will gradually improve in appearance. It will become clearer, firmer, brighter, tighter, and overall more youthful.
What Other Light-Based Treatments Does The Well Lounge Offer?
HALO™ laser resurfacing can be paired with BroadBand Light (BBL), a powerful form of intense pulsed light (IPL). The laser treatment will improve the overall look of the skin, while the BBL can be used to target and correct specific problems, such as noticeable spots or spider veins.
The Well Lounge also provides laser hair removal and laser acne and scar treatments, along with MicroTyte™ (infrared paired with microneedling) and Venus Versa™ photofacials.
