If you’re seeing the number 11 appearing between your eyebrows more often, you’re not imagining things! These are frown lines, and they develop as the muscles in your forehead move the skin into creases over and over again throughout the years. Using neuromodulators like Xeomin® and Dysport®, our nurse injectors based at The Well Lounge in Newtown and Horsham, PA can relax the muscles at fault and let your forehead rest. That means the skin between your eyebrows will stay smooth—even if you furrow your brows, squint, or wrinkle your nose.

What Can Xeomin® and Dysport® Treat?
Both Xeomin® and Dysport® were designed for targeting dynamic wrinkles (facial lines caused by repetitive muscle action) and are approved by the FDA to specifically target frown lines. Technically known as glabellar lines, these wrinkles are common to both women and men—especially those who have very active facial muscles.
The Well Lounge’s nurse injectors are highly trained and experienced in using Xeomin® and Dysport®, so other applications are also possible, including addressing horizontal forehead lines, crow’s feet, and other signs of aging.
How Do Xeomin® and Dysport® Work?
Neuromodulators are injectables made from botulinum toxin type A, which is a chemical that interferes with the transmission of messages sent to muscles via the nervous system.
Making facial expressions involves the work of various muscles contracting. Injecting Xeomin® or Dysport® into specific muscles keeps those muscles at rest while still allowing the surrounding muscles to work normally. This means you can make your desired expression without activating the particular muscles responsible for making dynamic wrinkles appear.
What Does a Xeomin® or Dysport® Session Involve?
Every injection session at The Well Lounge in Newtown or Horsham starts with a consultation with an injector to determine the best treatment option and develop a customized plan. Because there are subtle differences in how Xeomin® and Dysport® work—as well as in how other treatments like BOTOX® and dermal fillers work, too—it is important to choose the right option for each patient in order to maximize results.
The Well Lounge’s injectors are very experienced in administering a range of treatments, so no matter which injectable is chosen, the session will be safe, comfortable, and designed to create a naturally beautiful and youthful look. Patients need no more than a standard lunch break to complete the treatment, which will take only minutes to complete.
Although the injection sessions are quick and well-tolerated, some patients want to minimize sensation in the treatment area. Let us know prior to your Xeomin® and Dysport® injections if this is something you are concerned about, and we can make the experience even more comfortable for you.

What Happens After a Dysport® or Xeomin® Treatment?
Just about any injection will cause some minor reactions—from slight redness to swelling to itching—but these will fade quickly. Muscle activity in the treatment area will slow over the next 24 to 72 hours until the injected muscles remain at rest and the related lines are no longer visible. Patients can resume their normal daily activities as soon as they’d like.
How Long Do Results Last?
Specifics vary from person to person, but smoother skin after a Xeomin® or Dysport® session should last for about three to four months. After that time, messages will begin to get through the system again, and muscles will start contracting as usual. New injections can relax the muscles once again, extending the results.
What Other Facial Rejuvenation Options Does The Well Lounge Offer?
Neuromodulators focus on dynamic wrinkles, but creases and hollows that result from volume loss are best addressed by dermal fillers like Juvederm® and Restylane®. Muscle relaxers can also be paired with PDO threads to achieve a “liquid facelift.”
