Dr. Seth Althoff
Dr. Seth Althoff is originally from Gettysburg, PA. He went on to earn a B.S. in biology from Eastern Mennonite University. He attended Temple Medical School and completed his residency training in emergency medicine at the University of Virginia. He completed a fellowship in medical education. Dr. Althoff also earned a fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine and is still an active member of the Wilderness Medical Society.
What drew him to the emergency department was the ability to take care of critically ill patients and patients from every aspect of life. Over the past 13 years in practice, he realized that there are a lot of patients suffering from conditions that are directly related to their nutrition, exercise, and mental health. These three areas are vitally important to help patients achieve their optimal health. Although taking care of critically ill patients is extremely important to Dr. Althoff, he feels that he could be equally—if not more—helpful if he is able to help prevent the conditions that plague so many patients by taking a comprehensive look at their biopsychosocial medical history.
His goals are to create a practice that is very personalized and comprehensive to help patients reach their goals. These may range from improving recovery from an injury to stress management, consultation regarding current medical conditions, etc.
