PRF Prep & Care

We’re looking forward to your PRF Under Eye treatment. Because PRF is prepared from a small sample of your own blood, following these steps closely will help make your appointment as smooth and comfortable as possible. Below, you’ll find your full pre-treatment prep checklist, followed by your post-treatment care guide.

Before Your Treatment
Please Note

Do NOT stop taking any prescribed anticoagulants for this procedure unless you’re cleared to do so by your prescribing practitioner.

Please Note

If you have a history of autoimmune, neurological, or psychological disorders, please get clearance from your physician before treatment.

As Early As Possible Before Your Appointment

  • Start taking 2,000 mg of Vitamin C daily — the earlier you start, the better.
7 Days Before

  • Avoid Omega-3s, turmeric, ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, and garlic supplements.
3 Days Before

  • Pause Retinol and exfoliating acids — hold off on these for 3 days before treatment and 3 days after, to lessen your chance of irritation and redness.
Day Of Treatment

  • Drink at least 64 oz of water and eat a good snack before coming in — this helps prepare your body for the blood draw.

Questions before your appointment? Call or text us at 215.544.3883 — we’re always happy to help you get ready.

We’re unable to treat you if any of the following apply:
  • You are pregnant or nursing.
  • You have a diagnosed hematological (blood) disorder.
  • You have a recent (within the last 2 weeks) or active infection.
  • You’re currently in an autoimmune condition flare-up.
Please let us know before your appointment if any of the following apply to you:
  • You’ve had facial surgery or trauma within the last 8 weeks.
  • You have an active cold sore and we’re treating your lip area.
  • You’ve used aspirin within the last 2 weeks (this doesn’t include prescribed anticoagulants — please don’t stop those without clearance from your prescribing practitioner).
  • You have a significant event (a wedding, a photo shoot) within 2 weeks after your treatment date — bruising and swelling can take up to 2 weeks to fully subside, so let’s plan your timing together.
After Your Treatment
First 24–72 Hours

  • Swelling and tenderness are common and typically peak early on — don’t worry, it will come down.
  • You’ll most likely be bruised and/or swollen. Try not to touch or rub the treated area.
  • A cold compress (applied gently, without pressure) can help with comfort.
Up to 10 Days

  • The treated area may look asymmetrical or uneven — especially in the tear troughs — during this time. This is normal.
  • The treated area may also feel firm when touched. This is normal too.
Following Weeks to Months

  • PRF doesn’t require “touch-up” treatments — your results come from your own body’s natural collagen process, which continues working over several weeks to months after treatment.
Your Treatment Series

  • Best results are usually seen with a series of 3–4 treatments, depending on your skin quality and goals.
  • If you’d like your results assessed or want to discuss additional treatments, we recommend waiting at least 4 weeks after each PRF session — that’s best discussed with your provider in person.

If anything you’re experiencing doesn’t match what’s described here, or healing feels off in any way, please call or text us at 215.544.3883 — don’t wait for your follow-up. We’d rather hear from you.
